These paintings were produced in Malawi, Africa, in the lakeside town of Mangochi. This town lies on the Shire River. With the average daily income at less than 1 US dollar per day, this piece of art will be sure to not only brighten your home decor but will also provided economic support for these artisans.

Artist Thom Simon first began painting at age 15, with just crayons purchased for him by his brother in-law. Thomas first canvas sale was at age 16 and his work has been and continues to be inspired by what he experiences in his everyday life in Malawi. Some of his work reflects life scenes such women carrying water, villagers working in the fields, and the beautiful Lake Malawi at sunset. Having the opportunity to show and sell his paintings with Worldstock is encouraging to him and his dream is to one day have a market abroad and be able to paint in America.
